HOLIDAY PROGRAMME - “And they lived happily ever after…or did they?”


Our holiday programme is based on a selection of favourite fairy tales. Bring your kids along for some fun crafts then take out a book on fairy tales for them to enjoy reading at home during the holidays.  The programme is free and no registrations are required.

 Happily Ever After Programme

Dates and times as follows:

Te Takere:  Both weeks of the holidays,

 18th- 28th April. 10am to 12pm. 

Foxton Library: Second week of the holidays, 24th-28th April. 10.30am - 11.30am

Shannon Library: Second week of the holidays. 3pm to 4pm. 

Please note the programme will not be available on the 25th of April, ANZAC day. 


School Holiday Pass

The Ultimate School Holiday Pass has proved so popular we are selling them again these holidays.  They can be purchased from Te Takere and the Levin Aquatic Centre.

 For $20 your child will get:

A $10 Top up on a library card

1 Child Movie Pass - Focal Point
1 Cheesy Meal Combo - McDonalds
1 Child Swim Pass - Levin Aquatic Centre

Festival of Stories

This May we are celebrating a week-long Festival of Stories here at Te Takere and we have some really cool events lined up.  We are also  running a “short story” competition and a “design a bookmark” competition.  Click on the link to find out what is happening and for a timetable of events. Mary Kippenberger - Storyteller

 Mary is a one of our favourite entertainers and her Interactive storytelling, music and pantomimes will provide fun for the whole family. She will be performing at the conclusion of our Festival of Stories week on Sunday, 14th May from 2-3pm.
