Book talk: "Eye of the songbird" by Michael Munro

The Eye of the Songbird is a fictional book. Some have described it as a geo-political thriller, others have thought it more an environmental thriller. It's a story of people in the modern world where the compelling need for environmental survival comes head to head with economic survival.

About the author

Michael Munro was born in Hastings, and raised in Wellington, New Zealand.

Michael has had an extensive career in Music working  primarily as a pianist and jazz singer in New Zealand, London, Tahiti and Singapore.

He has performed worldwide with French, British, American, South African and Chinese musicians and performed at the New Orleans Mardi Gras, The Green Dolphin Jazz Venue in Cape Town and a number of London venues on a regular basis such as Rubens at the Palace, The Oyster Bar in Sloane St and the Mayfair Millennium. 

Michael has also written original music and produced two jazz programs for New Zealand's National Radio, and written and produced over 100 television and radio soundtracks.

Eye of the Songbird is Michael's first novel.

He currently lives in Wellington, New Zealand.
